Singapore, 30 March 2015 - Asia’s biggest interior design reality TV show, The Apartment: Celebrity Edition, concluded last night with model, actress and jewellery designer Xiao Wang crowned the series’ winner. Her US$100,000 winnings will be donated to three charities of her choice, as part of the new format seen in the fourth season of the show.
Imagine Group, award-winning reality TV production house and producer of The Apartment, partnered with official property sponsor Castlewood Group to bring the fourth season of The Apartment to life at Castlewood Group’s luxury development in Phuket, Thailand. This season’s exotic new filming location was one of several format changes introduced to the show’s award-winning formula. Other changes seen this season included a star-studded celebrity cast, a brand new elimination format, and a US$100,000 prize donation to the charity of the winner’s choice, as sponsored by Castlewood Group. The villas used for the show design challenges will be refurbished in preparation for the hotel and spa grand opening later this year.
New York-based Xiao Wang will divide her winnings between three charities: Locks of Love, World Wildlife Fund, and Americans for The Arts. “I am thrilled to have been able to participate and win The Apartment: Celebrity Edition at beautiful Bangtao Beach in Phuket. The charitable organisations I’ve chosen stand for what is important to me with looking after children, nature and the arts. I’m grateful for the opportunity to use my winnings donated from Castlewood Group to support them and make the best impact possible,” Xiao enthused.
Chris Comer, CEO of Castlewood Group, said, “We want to congratulate Xiao on her hard-earned win, it was well deserved and she is a worthy winner. This year’s show had a particularly strong philanthropic angle, from the contestants and back office staff pitching in and redesigning the local children’s home, to the contestants competing for a charity donation. It is fantastic news to see that the show has reached international communities, both from an entertainment and charity perspective.”
Riaz Mehta, President and Founder of Imagine Group commented on the new celebrity edition of The Apartment, “As Asia’s most popular and longest running reality TV shows, the new celebrity format was our most ambitious and outrageous season so far. It has been an exciting journey and the show has reached new heights in engaging the international community with our cast and adding a purpose-driven element to make this the biggest and best The Apartment yet.”
